The research conducted with the San Luis de Zama community centred around the use of raw materials for craftwork, using an ecological approach that permits the expansion of increasingly rare materials.
In the La Urbana community, work with crafts has been combined with research on food production and the recovery of their “living cuisine”, stressing the transmission of knowledge based on the work of the recently created environmental group “Deiyü Kwawa”. A hut called churuata or Pureido (in their native language), the traditional Piaroa dwelling, will be built in the San Luis de Zama community, to contribute to their material and intangible heritage.
