Role: Technical Lead

Title: Technical Lead

Location of project: Colombia

Scale: IV Senior Consultant I /Approved Teacher Trainer Senior I 

Economic Compensation: $ 118,148,435 for the entire contract (IVA not included) 

Lengths of contract: 12 months

Number of consultants required: 3

The academic lead is responsible for designing and implementing all technical aspects of the strategies assigned, according to what is agreed with the operational team and the head of implementation. This role operates within the framework of a collaborative project with the Local Education Authority of Barranquilla.

Essential qualifications, experience and skills:

University degree in Education or Languages with six (6) years of experience.
Postgraduate studies in an education- related field e.g. M.A. TESOL, language assessment, educational technologies, language didactics, or equivalent experience of more than (10 years)
At least six (6) years of proven experience in at least two of the below:

▪ teaching English as a foreign language,

▪ designing and/or adapting curriculum for English as a subject in formal education,

▪ leading or delivering consultancy, assessment strategies for ELT,

▪ working in large-scale projects in the public sector, including English Language Learning,

▪ Minimum C1 level of Spanish and English

Role: Communications Coordinator

Title: Communications Coordinator – Barranquilla project 2025

Location of project: Colombia

Scale: Junior Postgraduate Consultant/ Teacher Trainer junior II

Economic Compensation: $ 49,500.000 for the entire contract (IVA not included)

Lengths of contract: 11 months

Number of consultants required: 1

Act as the coordinator of the communications strategy for the Barranquilla is Bilingual project, ensuring the implementation of data management policies and the use of our participants' images to promote the project's objectives and goals in accordance with the corporate policies of the British Council and the partner organization. 

Essential qualifications, experience and skills:

Bachelor's degree in social communication or in a related field.

Demonstrate the following experience and expertise:

  • At least five (5) years of experience in designing and implementing 360-degree communication strategies for large-scale projects.
  • Ability to use design programs such as Illustrator and audiovisual resources among others (photo and video).
  • Proficient in the management of social networks and online/digital platforms.
  • Ability to operate in Spanish level C1 of the CEFR.

Role: Graphic content designer 

Title: Graphic content designer - Barranquilla project.

Location of project: Colombia

Scale: Professional Junior Consultant/Teacher Trainer Junior I

Economic Compensation: $33,000.000 Colombian Pesos for the entire contract (IVA not included)

Lengths of contract: 11 months

Number of consultants required: 1

Purpose: Provide professional services as a Photographer, designer for graphic and/or audiovisual content across various components of the Barranquilla project. 

Essential qualifications, experience and skills: 

  • Minimum of two (2) years of graphic design experience.
  • Proficiency in design, layout, editing, image retouching, and audiovisual software, including but not limited to Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Fluent in Spanish at a C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
  • At least six months of experience in creating graphic materials for educational projects (preferred)

Economic Compensation: 77,000,000

Lengths of contract: 11 months

Number of consultants required: 3

Purpose: To support the academic lead in the design, implementation, and monitoring of academic strategies as part of the large-scale agreement with the Local Educational Authority of Barranquilla. 

Essential qualifications, experience and skills:

The candidate must hold an official teaching certificate i.e. BA in languages, or similar, or equivalent in years of experience working in ELT (6-8 years).

 At least 4 years of proven experience in any of the following activities:

▪ Teaching English as a Foreign Language or teaching in online learning environments.

▪ Coordinating and leading EFL programmes

▪ Teacher training, including class observation and feedback.

▪ Curriculum and materials design in EFL programmes

Knowledge of and/or experience in public primary and secondary education.

Ability to operate in English and Spanish (both written and spoken) at a business level.
